Old story from 7th grade?

This is one of my old stories from 7th grade that i did? cant remember that well :))

Mr. Linden’s Library
Mary Jacobsen was strange. Very strange. She walked around the small town of Hurkinsburg looking at the color of people’s shoes and talking to ducks. People called her Maniac Mary, and small school children screamed and ran when they saw her. She was single, had no parents, and lived alone at the top of a small hill called Mount Hurkin. But she was only content when she went to the village’s library. They called it Mr. Linden’s Library. He had all sorts of books. From mystery to chick flicks, from action to realistic fiction. Mary went there every day for 17 hours, roaming the shelves and reading from book to book. One day, she found a very interesting book.
“Mr. Linden?” she asked
“Yes, Mary?”
“What is this book?”
Mr. Linden told her to put the book back into storage and said he would burn it later. She was a very curious girl and never listened to people. She took the book home and started to read it. It was very long; 17,171,717 pages, with lots of vivid colors.
The book was about a girl that got lost in the jungle, and the vines came to life at night. The vines stroked her and caressed her, while singing songs and lullabies. One night the girl tried to eat some of the vines because she was starved, and was choked in the night by the vines.
Mary was on page 171,717 when she fell asleep, the book open to the page where the vines choked the girl. She fell into a deep sleep and began dreaming. She was being stroked and caressed. Sung to and tucked in. Why did this seem very familiar? She was suddenly very hungry and wanted to eat something. She reached out and started munching on vines.
The next night she was on page 17171710. This was the part where her parents and friends found out the girl had been choked. Mary started sleeping again. She felt stroking and caressing for a moment, but then the long fingers started moving up to her neck. The felt them curl around her neck and start squeezing. Before she could figure out what was happening, she was being squeezed more and more until she flung her sheets back and tried to wake up from her dream. Only it wasn’t a dream. He had warned her about the book. Now it was too late.
Mary Jacobsen was being slowly chocked to death by vines coming out o a book. This was her ghastly fate. She didn’t listen. Now she had paid her price.
